Topic: Introduction to the Accelerated Program. Importance of structure in a drawing.

Class Exercise: First day! Discussion of influences - Sketching and creating structure in a drawing.

 

Day 2, 9/1/15

Topic: Body proportions and structure. Importance of sketching and structure in relation to the body.

Class Exercise: Draw four full body figures and two faces using proportions and structure from class.

 

Day 3, 9/2/15

Topic: First lesson about Osteology, or the study of the skeleton. Upper body movements.

Class Exercise: Start drawing the upper skeletal system.

 

Day 4, 9/3/15

Topic: Second lesson about Osteology. Lower body movements.

Class Exercise: Start drawing lower body skeletal structure.

 

Monday 9/7/15 - LABOR DAY - No Class!

 

Day 5, 9/8/15

Topic: Third lesson about Osteology. Torso and movements.

Class Exercise: Start drawing torso and skull.

 

Day 6, 9/9/15

Topic: First lesson about Myology, or the study of muscles.

Class Exercise: Start drawing upper body muscles and associated movements.

Topic: Second lesson about myology. Lower body movements.

Class Exercise: Start drawing lower body muscles.

 

Day 8, 9/14/15

Topic: Basics of composition - framing, wings and scheme X.

Class Exercise: Rule of Thirds, finding your focal point (object or narrative?)

 

Day 9, 9/15/15

Topic: Third lesson about myology. Torso and head movements.

Class Exercise: Start drawing torso muscles

 

Day 10, 9/16/15

Topic: Anatomy: Hand and head structure and synthesis.

Class Exercise: Start drawing hands and head muscles - expressions, emotions, and gestures

 

Day 11, 9/17/15

Topic: Figures in space. Interaction of characters using perspective.

Class Exercise: Several drawings with characters interacting using two or three point perspective.
Section 2: Perspective

September 21st - September 24th, M-Th, 10-5pm

Topic: Compositional examples; study the framing and perspective of selected frames.

Class Exercise: Find the correct perspective and compositional rule of each frame; draw quick screenshots from different movies.

Topic: Axonometric projection (blueprints and product design)

Class Exercise: Several drawings using axonometric projection. Interiors and exteriors.

 

Day 3, 9/23/15

Topic: Axonometric projection to perspective. One point perspective, two point

Class Exercise: Several one point perspective drawings. Interior and exterior.

 

Day 4, 9/24/15

Topic: Three point perspective - fish eye lense perspective

Class Exercise: Several perspective drawings three vanishing points.
